Testimony

Don't we all want a testimony, you know a story about what God has done in our lives? I long for a story to tell that God healed me. As several of you know, about a year ago I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, which is an autoimmune disease that effects the digestive system.  Through the course of this past year I have undergone many tests, tried various medications, and visited the hospital several times.  The past four weeks have been the best of the year with hope of healing.  I was even beginning to share what looked like healing with friends.  Then this week, I had another flare that landed me in the emergency room and back on steroid medication.  So, the testimony, story, I was hoping for has not yet arrived.  Yet, I have a testimony in the midst of waiting for healing.  My God has blessed me with wonderful doctors and medical care when I am in the hospital.  I am thankful for medicine that alleviates the pain.  He has provided for us financially as we pay medical bills.  He has blessed me with principals and other staff members who are understanding when I do not feel well and miss work.  He has spared me from the awful side effects of my medications. Most people gain 60 pounds their first year on steroids, and no that is not muscle weight.  I have only gained 8 pounds, not bad huh? He has blessed me with a husband who will stay up through the night when I have a flare and spends early morning hours in the emergency room with me.  His word gives me joy and keeps me from discouragement.  So, while I wait for healing, I can declare who God is and what he is doing in the midst of the trial.  May you also, see that you have a testimony in the midst of waiting.

  1. Oh Meredith, I had no idea that you were going through all of this! I will start to pray for your healing! I am encouraged to hear of God's provision and love that he shows you in the midst of your pain and unknowns. May we all say that He is Good, despite our circumstances.

Please let me know if there are other things more specifically that I can pray for, I want to know!

  3. David and I have clearly been out of the loop. Thank you for sharing your heart and letting us lift you up in prayer! We will not only hope for healing but we will anticipate the Lord's graciousness and ultimate healing! We wish we could join you guys this summer but we were recently blessed with another baby on the way. Even though I did it before, it is a little different with a 16 month old running around as well. We will continue to pray for your support and for JV! We love you both and anxiously wait to be united again one day in Croatia!
Love, David, Amanda, Gracelyn and baby :)
