Autumn Day

This afternoon, we decided to take a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway to enjoy the beautiful fall foliage. We are a little late for the peak season for the fall leaves, but we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless.
We had to fuel up before the journey. Aren't these gas prices amazing!!! We never thought we would see gas below $2 again.

Bosley is looking for an escape route. Even though he enjoys a car ride; he still loves to run free. Just in case you are wondering, our dogs have been adopted by Jamey's parents. They are enjoying their new home greatly.

We tried to get a nice family photo, but the dogs were not very cooperative as you can see. I am trying to control Marley by the neck, but she likes to do her own thing. I also think they may still be hoping to catch the flock of wild turkey we saw crossing the road on our drive up the mountain.

I wish our camera took better pictures, so that you could catch a glimpse of the beauty of the mountains and valleys in Southwest Virginia. For all our friends in Phoenix, yes, this is where we live now. Quite different from the big city and the desert.

At the end of the day, we enjoyed pumpkin spice latte, which I made in the crockpot, and pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. Everything tastes better with chocolate! Right, Julia?
